Folly
In architecture, a folly is an extravagant, frivolous or fanciful building, designed more for artistic expression than for practicality.
In other words someone with money faniced having something unusual built for the fun of it... this one is within walking distance from Hyde town centre.

Tree Face
Watcher Of The Woods
I came a cross this tree just before I entered the woodlands of the old hall. It's as if this tree keeps a watch on the wood and who or what is entering and leaving. When I met up with Tom who took another pathway we swapped camera's and looked at what each had taken... Tom as got The Old Lady of the woods coming up soon. There was not much wildlife about the woods, what birds were about stayed in the tree tops. Both of us however got nice shots of moss, trees and fungi. More of this walk tomorrow.Friday, 18 January 2008
Goblin Manor 1860
Who lives in a house like this ?
I am always happy to come across something a bit unusual, Goblin Manor is just such a thing. I saw this last week while out with a friend, I made him stop the car while I took these. He laughed when I got back in the car as he'd been driving that road many years and not noticed. Sometimes just looking is not seeing if you know what I mean.Thursday, 17 January 2008

Skull of Ram

I am often asked to keep a look out for decent skulls, these make good subjects to draw for artists, others use them for displays around the home or garden. The horns can be made into Handles and the tops of walking sticks. This one is promised to Jane..(Womtigleys much better half) but I do take the odd orders for stuff like this. I am always on the look out for anything out of the ordanary... I normally swop stuff for cigerrattes or just a meal or two.
