January's Mixed Bag.

January was a wet and windy month, just a touch of frost but very mild at times.

This is the last of my pictures for last month I have already built up a few from this month and hopefully this weekend will see a few more pictures under my belt.

Fungi, Lichen, and Moss

2 Kinds Of Bracket Fungi

2 Kinds Of Lichen Found On Trees

2 Mosses

All these were took on the same day in a very small woodland.. just up the road from the estate where yesterdays Red Fox was seen. This a damp area, close by a reservoir surrounded be high moorlands. A great place for a walk and plenty to see even on cold wet days.
My new Header above shows on the right a King Fisher flying right at the camera, this picture was also taken that day... a great walk for sure.

Woodland Fungi

This is just a small selection of the Fungi to be found in this woodland. It was my first time here but I've told Tom that we need to get back here throughout the year. The floor was carpeted in leaf litter which is still now crisp and red. This is different from other woodlands and I think it as a lot to do with the big old Beech trees. I hope you have enjoyed this series of picture from Pole Bank woods... I enjoyed walking there and taking the pictures.

Bracken Fungi on trunk

Bracken Fungi

Tom as shown me how to comment today and I've just spent 2 hours trying to say a big thank you to all who have visited me. Tom as had to help once or twice but he mostly just laughed at me typing with one finger. I keep hitting the wrong key because my fingers are so big. Tom is now laughing again and calling me sausage fingers.
Thank you to all and thanks Tom glad we had a laugh doing it.

Fungi with Fungi

I've never seen this before and was pleased to have had the camera with me. On the underside of this mushroom another type of fungi was growing, I took this on Super Macro so you can tell how small and delicate this must be.
