Sky Watch Friday

Hyde's Gallahers Old Cigarette Factory

Known locally as Senior Service from the brand it made at one time. On top of this building in Bright Blue were the words Senior Service... it could be seen from miles around.

I have spent a lot of my time in and around the shadow of this building.. which is soon to be demolished for housing.

It's amazing how you captured all those shades and rays of light.
You are a very good sunset´s catcher!

Very catchy rays in the first one and nice silhouettes in both.

Pity about memories being dismantled, but I suppose housing is better than cigarettes!

Great pictures Peter.
This is the view I see from my back bedroom when I look over the fields and the houses on the oppersite side. When I lived on the other side of Hyde again this building.. or the neon blue Senior Service could be seen.

Nice capture of a soon to be lost landmark.

Great you captured this before the big change. I hope the view is as clear after the housing goes in.

Wow..this is gorgeous. I love the silhouettes. It's a shame about losing a piece of history. Glad you were able to get the photograph now.

Love the silhouettes. Too bad the landmark is about to be torn down. At least you've captured it in your photos. ;-)

I thought Bethlehem when I first saw this. The rays are amazing!

I didn't know if you would see it so I'll comment here too about your shadows post of yesterday - so surreal. I like fantasy so I invisioned Hobbits living there!

Well captured with the sun poking through on the building, which is so much part of the area, and soon to be no more.
