Galloway Cattle Old Glossop

The Galloway is one of the oldest and purest of our native cattle breeds. They are famed for their hardiness and can live off the poorest of land. The Galloway female is the ideal suckler cow, and will produce an excellent beefy calf, which produces the highest quality natural grown beef.

These cows are all new to me. But I do get to see them on blogs from England but your post is the first I have read that describes them and their name. Thanks for that. They sure look furry or have fur like a bear, almost. I like those horns too. Are the bulls dangerous like our bulls are over here? I would assume so. Nice post Peter. Hello to Defor.

Hi Abe.. I have walked through the fields where these have been and had no trouble at all, some of these highland cattle seem more friendly.. or it's just our fresh air thatmakes them sleepy.. Peter did well with this post.

The Belted Galloway are my favourite beef cattle. I always regret not owning some. This historic and important breed is always at risk of becoming extinct.
It has very important properties that must be preserved as art of the gene pool for cattle.
